Swayumbhu or Swayumbhunath located on a high hill overlooking Kathmandu valley. The 4-pairs of large eyes, on four sides of the stupa represent Wisdom and Compassion. The Third Eye symbolises cosmic rays emanating from it which is located on forehead and between two eyes. During one of Buddha's teachings, cosmic rays emerged from the Third Eye which were a link set up for the heavenly beings to come down to earth and listen to Buddha's sermons.
